SMEs & industry

Know what your production equipment is worth.

Machines, vehicles, tools, workstations: ItemScale keeps the register of everything an SME owns, what it is worth today, and what its maintenance costs.

The situation

A growing SME accumulates equipment faster than it records it. A compressor bought six years ago. A vehicle sent to a site, then forgotten there. Three computers replaced without the old ones ever leaving the books. The spreadsheet exists — it was kept up to date for four months. Then comes the annual inventory, and nobody can say what the estate is worth, or how long it has been since the machine that just broke down was last serviced.

What changes

Inventory value after depreciation, in FCFA

Every record carries its purchase price, its date and its depreciation period. The current value recalculates itself: you read what the estate is worth today, not what it cost.

Maintenance cost per machine and per site

Every intervention is attached to its asset, with its duration and its cost. After a year, you can see which machine costs more to repair than to replace.

An annual inventory ready for the auditor

The inventory is generated at a given date, as PDF or Excel, with asset IDs, locations and values. What used to take a week of counting now takes as long as an export.

A concrete case

Take a joinery workshop, two sites, forty machines. The workshop manager scans the QR label stuck on the planer: the record opens, last service eight months ago, warranty expired in March. He opens a work order from his phone. The owner, for his part, will see the expense appear in that machine's annual cost — and will know, next year, whether it is still worth keeping.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before they sign.

A question that is not here? Write to us — we reply within one working day.

Our machines have no readable serial number. Is that a problem?

No. ItemScale generates a unique asset ID for each item, printed on the label with its QR code. The manufacturer's serial number stays an optional field, useful when it exists.

Can we track equipment that moves between two sites?

Yes. A transfer between sites is traced: who requested it, who approved it, and when. The asset stays in the organisation's register, and its location follows the movement.

Do we need an internet connection in the workshop?

Scanning and reading are done from a phone. For a poorly covered workshop, the Business plan lets you install ItemScale on your own server: the inventory stays readable and editable without a network, and syncs when the connection returns.
